Ladakh Buddhist Association Calls for Eradication of Social Evils and Caste Discrimination
VoL Desk, Nov. 15: The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), in a press conference at Leh today, urged the Buddhist community in Ladakh to eradicate social evils and caste-based discrimination.
During the General Council meeting of the LBA, emphasis was placed on discontinuing retirement celebrations in Ladakh, which is straining the local economy. Tsering Dorjay Lakruk, a senior leader of LBA, highlighted that these celebrations contribute to a burden on economy due to excessive food preparation, and vehicle congestion, and accidents due to alcohol consumption.
Lakruk also addressed the rising issue of drug abuse among school students, urging parents to closely monitor their children and protect them from such harmful influences.

Furthermore, he stressed the need for the Buddhist community to eliminate social customs associated with caste-based discrimination.
The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining relationships among households, even in the face of disputes, and encouraged resolving conflicts through discussions involving village elders. Meeting attendees appealed to Gobas (village heads) to ensure the proper implementation of these instructions in their respective villages.

Political decision, wellfare scheme and reservation in jobs and education are given on the basis of castes. Even in Tehsils caste certificates are distributed.. Whole country is divided into, groups such as General. ST., SC, OBC and freebies are given on the basis of these groups. These groups are combination of castes.. Only as per my opinion all caste should be converted into BHARTIY. .
