Leh, Nov 10: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a meeting today at the VC room to discuss the extension of the Municipal boundary in accordance with Section 5 of the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000.

Executive Officer, MC Leh, Stanzin Rabgais provided a comprehensive presentation that covered various aspects of the proposal, including the role of the Municipal Committee, urbanization trends, and the expansion of areas, among other key points. In a collaborative effort, committee members shared their valuable feedback and suggestions during the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Sukhadeve urged the committee members to promptly submit their written observations and feedback to the member secretary. Also, DC highlighted the importance of including suburban areas into MC for planned growth and development.

The meeting was attended by Administrator of the Municipal Committee, Leh; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh, representative from Housing and Urban Development, Ladakh, along with other relevant officials. In addition to these officials, nominated representatives of LAHDCs Leh, such as Stanzin Chosphel (Executive Councilor, Agriculture LAHDC, Leh), Tsering Namgyal (Councilor, Lower Leh Constituency, LAHDC, Leh), Tundup Nurboo (Councilor Phyang, LAHDC, Leh), Ex-President MC Leh, Dr Ishey Namgyal and Rinchen Dolker (Ex-Ward Member, Ward No: 8 Murtse, Leh), were also present at the meeting.
