Kargil, Nov 20: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today convened a meeting with Ajay Kumar Singh, Commander 762 BRT at Council Secretariat Kargil regarding construction of Motorable Bridge at Hardass and other issues with the organization.

Altaf Hussain Councilor, Chulisamboo, Nasir Husain Munshi, Councilor, Choskore, Manzoor Hussain Councilor Yourbaktak and Lt. Col. Divyankit Naiwal OC 55RCC were also present in the meeting. A motorable bridge being constructed by the Project Vijayak (BRO) over Drass River at Hardass was discussed in detail and the Commander 762 BRT assured to complete the said bridge during the next working season, as the same was held up due to some dispute.

Realignment of Kargil-Dumkil road at some stretch falling under Sodh village was also discussed and the Commander 762 BRT assured to conduct a joint visit of the concerned stakeholders to arrive at conclusion.

The CEC asked BRO to keep provision for drainage of water at the locations wherever necessary to avoid damage to the road and other public utilities.

Nasir Husain Munshi, Councilor, Choskore, raised the issue of tree compensation coming under the alignment of Batambis-Sapi road and engagement of local labour on Sapi Road. The Commander 762 BRTF assured for clearance of deployment of new Snow cutter at Sapi road during winter months.
