Agencies/ Oct. 09: A major military campaign orchestrated by the Palestinian Resistance sent shockwaves through Occupied Palestine as they launched a well-coordinated attack on various Israeli cities and settlements. This offensive, in retaliation to Israeli army and settler violence in the West Bank and the tragic loss of innocent children, has escalated the conflict dramatically.

In response to the attack, Israeli air strikes hit housing blocks, tunnels, a mosque and homes of Hamas officials in Gaza on Sunday, killing around 500 people, including 20 children and wounding 2751, informed the Health Ministry in Gaza.

In the surprise attack, the armed group Hamas killed some 700 Israelis, according to media reports, and Hamas abducted dozens as they attacked Israeli towns.

The clashes have intensified in southern Israel, where fierce gun battles between Hamas fighters and Israeli forces are raging in locations including Karmia’s kibbutz, Ashkelon, and Sderot. A senior Hamas official disclosed that more than 100 Israelis, including senior military officers, have been captured, heightening tensions further.

Israel swiftly responded to the attacks, regaining control of most of the Gaza border, claimed Israel. The conflict has resulted in a staggering death toll and numerous individuals taken as prisoners. Tragically, over 123,000 Palestinians have been displaced from their homes, facing dire humanitarian conditions.

The international community has expressed deep concern over the situation. The United Nations Security Council convened an emergency session, attempting to address the crisis, but failed to reach a unanimous resolution. Meanwhile, the United States, showing solidarity with Israel, dispatched multiple military ships and aircraft to the region, raising fears of further escalation.

Amidst the chaos, Iran vehemently denied any involvement in the attacks, asserting that Palestine’s response was entirely independent. Additionally, Hezbollah, a Lebanese Resistance group, claimed responsibility for mortar strikes on Israeli targets in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

A statement by the group said, “On the path to liberate the remaining part of our occupied Lebanese land and in solidarity with the victorious Palestinian resistance and the steadfast Palestinian people, the groups of the martyr commander Hajj Imad Moghniyeh in the Islamic Resistance carried out an attack this Sunday, October 08, 2023, targeting 3 Zionist occupation sites in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms region.”

The human toll of the conflict continues to rise, with casualties reported on both sides, including the tragic loss of American lives.
