Community Mobilization Programme for increasing enrolment held

Kargil, Sep 20, 2023: To improve enrolment in government schools, SDM Sharkar Chiktan, Abdul Gaffar Zargar who is also the Chairman of Mission for Education Improvement in Government School (MEIGS) today conducted an enrolment drive at Government Girls Middle School Zgang Chiktan under the MEIGS.

ZEO Shakar Chiktan, Mohd Ibrahim Karpo, famous educationist Mehfooz Ali, Headmaster GHS Hagnis Ghulam Ali and other members of MEIGS and VEC Members of the school along with parents were present on the occasion.

The school has been included under the MEIGS initiative after community mobilization for increase of enrolment in the school, a move which parents and VECs appreciated.

The SDM said that the program was aimed to raise awareness among the local communities about the importance of education and various facilities being provided to the students in Government Schools and encouraged parents to enrol their children in government schools.

He expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of the teachers and volunteers under MEIGS and emphasized the significance of education in the overall development of the district.

The SDD urged parents and communities to prioritize education and enrol their children in government schools for better education and avail benefits of schemes aimed at promoting education.

He further said government schools offer a range of incentives, including scholarships for all, special assistance for girl students, free books, uniforms, and MDM, among others. These facilities are designed to provide a conducive learning environment and ensure that students receive quality education without financial constraints.

Later the SDM also visited under-construction projects in Zgang Village and directed the concerned officers to pace the progress of work to ensure timely completion of the projects along with maintaining quality as per standards.
