Kargil, Sep 09: As per the directions of Ladakh Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil organized the 3rd National Lok Adalat in which five benches were constituted for different kinds of cases pending in the Courts like criminal Compoundable matters, cases u/s 138 NI Act. MACT cases, Bank recovery cases, Matrimonial disputes and other civil cases etc.

The 1st bench was presided over by Iqbal Ahmad Masoudi, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil and Advocate Asgar Ali Yarkain, the 2nd bench was presided over by Phuntsog Angmo Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate/Secretary DLSA Kargil and Advocate Muzaffar Hussain, the 3rd bench was presided over by Shafiq Mushtaq Lone, Ld. Munsiff/ JMIC Sankoo and Advocate Aga Syed Abass, the 4th bench was presided over by Imran Hanif, Munsiff Additional/Special Mobile Magistrate Drass and Tehsildar Drass and the 5th bench was presided over by Abdul Gaffar Zargar, SDM Shakar Chiktan and Tehsildar Kargil.

A total number of 474 cases were referred to the National Lok Adalat out of which 224 cases were disposed off amicably. The settlement amount was Rs 831,011 and a fine of Rs 35,700 was imposed.
