Shias Gather in Fokar to Commemorate Asad-e-Ashura, Honoring Imam Hussain’s Sacrifice
VoL Desk, August 01: Hundreds of Shia Muslims from neighboring villages of Fokar gathered at Karamba today to observe the solemn occasion of Asad-e-Ashura. The mourners commenced a procession from Imam Bargah, Khachay, which culminated at Imam Bargah Karamba. During the procession, they recited Nohas and elegies to express their grief and commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain.
Concurrent congregations were also held at various villages, where respected speakers delivered sermons. Sheikh Ali Muradi addressed the gathering at Karamba, Sheikh Mustafa Shabiri at Khachay, and Sheikh Sadiq Shujai at Tingdoo, sharing insights and reflections on the significance of this day.
Asad-e-Ashura is an annual observance held in July and August, often during hot weather, in memory of the tragic events at Karbala. It serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice and suffering endured by Imam Hussain, who faced a grievous fate, including three days of thirst, before his martyrdom.
