Kargil open karate championship concludes at indoor stadium kargil
Kargil, August 27: The 5th District Kargil Open Karate Championship 2023 has reached its conclusion at the Indoor Stadium in Kargil. Akhone Mustu, the Director of the Physical Education Department at Government Degree College Kargil, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Organized by the Kargil Karate Association (KKA) under the leadership of Sensei Hassan Khan, who is a member of SGI and the founder of SGI Doju Kargil, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kargil, a two-day District level Open Karate Championship was successfully held at the Indoor Stadium in Kargil.
During the concluding event, Akhone Mustu, the Director of the Physical Education Department at Government Degree College Kargil, honored the occasion. Mohammad Yousuf, in charge of activities and the senior most PEM of the Youth Services and Sports Department in Kargil, also attended as the guest of honor. Akhone Mustu, the Director of the Physical Education Department at GDC Kargil, commended the Kargil Karate Association for their dedicated work over the past twenty-three years in promoting Karate in Kargil.

He recognized the male and female Karate athletes who won Medallist Black belts from the Ladakh Karate Association for their achievements at the India Open International Karate Championship held in New Delhi. He also praised Sensei Hassan Khan for his efforts in introducing Karate at the grassroots level in the district.
“The dedicated efforts of Chief Instructor Sensei Hassan Khan are yielding results, and they will undoubtedly enhance the genuine talent of Karatekas, providing them opportunities to excel at the State, National, and International levels,” stated the President of LKA.
This year’s much-anticipated Championship saw participation from 25 male and 27 female Karatekas from various Government and Private Schools in Kargil. The championship awarded 21 Karatekas with Gold Medals, 12 with Silver Medals, and 8 with Bronze Medals.
The KKA is gearing up for the 1st Ladakh State Karate Championship 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Leh at the UT level. Finally, the Kargil Karate Association expressed gratitude towards all the guests, supporters, and sponsors for contributing to the success of the event.
