Death Anniversary of Sheikh Ali Elmi Brolmo Commemorated in Hundermo Brok
Kargil, August 03: The death anniversary of Sheikh Ali Elmi Brolmo was solemnly observed at Qadimi Imam Bargha of Goma Hundermo Brok in Ladakh, in collaboration with the Village Committee of Hundermo Brok.
The event was graced by the presence of Padma Shri awardee, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, who served as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Sheikh Ali Mussa, the village clergy.
This commemoration marked the first of its kind for the cleric, where historian Mohd Sadiq Hardassi shed light on the life and teachings of Sheikh Ali Brolmo. During the event, a request was made to the Government of India to consider opening the Kargil Skardu road for pilgrims for one day each year on the 14th of Muharram. This gesture would allow divided families, devotees, and followers of Sheikh Ali Brolmo to visit his shrine in Brolmo on the Line of Control (LOC), akin to the Kartarpur Border.
