VoL Desk, August 20: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its official slate of candidates for the upcoming 5th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil Election. The announcement was made today by the State President of BJP, Shri Punchok Stanzin.

The list of candidates is comprised of individuals who have been carefully selected to represent various constituencies within the region. The confirmed candidates for the 5th LAHDC Kargil Election are as follows:

1. Rigzin Tsewang – Karsha Zanskar
2. Fayaz Ahmad Qari – Ranbirpora, Drass
3. Mohd Ali Chandan – Shargole
4. Padma Dorjay – Stakchay Khangral
5. Mohsin Ali – Chiktan
6. Regzin Gurmath – Silmo

As per the Election Department, UT Ladakh notification, the election process commenced with the initiation of nominations on August 16, 2023. Prospective candidates will have until August 23, 2023, to submit their nominations. Subsequently, the scrutiny of nominations will take place on August 24, followed by the last date for the withdrawal of nominations on August 26, 2023.

The highly anticipated polling day is scheduled for September 10, 2023, with voting set to occur between 8 AM and 4 PM. The crucial counting of votes is then planned for September 14, with the entire election procedure expected to conclude before September 20, 2023.
