Advisor of Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal initiates expediting Recruitment Rules Submission to UPSC

Leh, August 28: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting of all Administrative Secretaries to conduct a daily review and assess the implementation of various ongoing works and initiates to expedite recruitment rules at Civil Secretariat, Leh.

At the outset, the advisor urged the secretaries to submit the draft Gazetted Recruitment Rules of each department in a stipulated time so that UT Ladakh could submit the recruitment rules to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for concurrence.Dr Pawan also urged the officers to ensure proper communication, coordination, and monitoring of ongoing works and projects.

He advised the Secretaries to regularly monitor the expenditure and stay updated on the progress, and booking expenditure, address any obstacles or issues that might arise, and ensure the smooth execution of various development projects, he added.

Dr. Kotwal emphasized the significance of the expeditious finalization of the Gazetted Services Recruitment Rules for Ladakh and stressed regular reviews, and proactive problem-solving to ensure the successful execution of projects. The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, strategic planning, and coordinated efforts to overcome challenges, enhance efficiency, and drive meaningful sustainable development in Ladakh.

Administrative Secretaries were encouraged to communicate and collaborate more effectively to ensure a holistic approach to sustainable development and governance in Ladakh.The meeting involved the participation of the Principal Secretary, Commissioner Secretaries, Administrative Secretaries, Directors, Deputy Secretaries, Chief Engineers, Officers on Special Duty (OSD), and Officials were also present. Representatives from the Deputy Commissioner of Leh, and Kargil, and officers from Kargil joined the meeting virtually.
