Outrage and Calls for Justice: Kargil Condemn Brutal Attack on Policemen in Leh
Kargil, July 24: Various religious organizations and political parties in District Kargil have strongly condemned the alleged assault on policemen from Ladakh Police in Leh by hooligans and are demanding strict action against the culprits.
The Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil, Jammu Kashmir National Conference, and Indian National Congress Councillor have issued separate press releases and statements, expressing their condemnation of the attacks on the policemen.
The Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) press release has raised concerns about the injured policemen’s well-being and urged the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh and the relevant authorities to provide all necessary support and care to them as they are now being treated in Srinagar.

As per the JKNC press release, the concerned SSP didn’t visited to the injured policemen who are now shifted to Srinagar for further treatment. The Party appealed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh and the concerned authorities to provide all necessary support and care to the injured policemen.
The Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil has strongly condemned the heinous assault on two police personnel from District Kargil in Leh. The incident occurred last evening and resulted in serious injuries to the officers. One of them has been referred to SKIMS Srinagar for medical treatment, according to the IKMT Press Release.
In response to these violent acts, the JKNC has expressed solidarity with the injured police officers and their families, stating that such acts are not only attacks on law enforcement personnel but also a threat to the region’s law and order.
Both the JKNC and IKMT have called upon the authorities to take swift and decisive action against the culprits responsible for this despicable act. They are urging for the immediate apprehension and just punishment of those involved to uphold the rule of law.
IKMT Kargil, representing the people of Kargil, has requested the Honorable Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, the Advisor to LG, and ADG Ladakh to take immediate action and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice in accordance with the law. They emphasize the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of government servants.
At this critical juncture, both organizations appeal to the people of the region to maintain peace and unity, refraining from allowing these unfortunate incidents to create divisions along communal lines. They believe that the strength of the community lies in collective unity and understanding.
