LG Addresses Public Grievances in meeting with Departmental Secretaries
VoL Desk, July 15: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra, today presided over a meeting with Departmental Secretaries and other officials to discuss various issues raised by public and private delegations. The meeting covered a wide range of topics aimed at addressing concerns and fostering development in the region.
One of the key areas discussed during the meeting was the progress made in detaching school teachers and ensuring their return to their original stations. This initiative aims to improve educational infrastructure and enhance the quality of education across Ladakh.
Another important agenda item focused on the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works in all villages, along with efforts to obtain certification from the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). Additionally, the meeting addressed the procurement of a CT Scan and MRI machine for the Kargil District Hospital.

Recognizing the significance of sports in promoting physical fitness and excellence, the LG Ladakh emphasized the need for a Sports Incentive Policy and a policy for Sports Quota for national and international-level athletes from Ladakh. These policies aim to provide encouragement and support to budding sportspersons and promote Ladakh as a hub for sporting talent.
In another development, socio-political activist Sajjad Hussain Kargili met with the Hon’ble LG Ladakh, raising concerns related to health infrastructure in Kargil. He also brought attention to the grievances of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers in Ladakh, seeking administrative interventions to address these issues. The LG Ladakh assured him that the matters would be carefully examined and appropriate actions taken.
During the meeting, Sajjad Kargili was accompanied by Mohd Ali, Editor of the Greater Ladakh News Paper, who requested space for setting up their office in Kargil. In response, the LG suggested that they discuss the matter with the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Kargil, Sh. Feroz Ahmad Khan, in order to find a suitable solution.
