VoL Desk, July 8: In a significant operation, the Kargil Police have successfully recovered 60 litres of illegal Desi Dharu (locally brewed alcohol) and apprehended two women hailing from Nepal. The arrests were made in the Megawatt area of Kargil, and the case has been registered under FIR No. 34 & 35, Section 48 of the Excise Act, at the Police Station Kargil.

Acting on a tip-off received by the authorities, a team from the Kargil Police conducted a targeted raid in the Megawatt area. The operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of 60 litres of Desi Dharu, a traditional homemade alcoholic beverage known for its high potency. The illegal alcohol was reportedly intended for distribution and sale.
