Kargil, May 13, 2023: As per the direction of Ladakh Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil today organized the 2nd National Lok Adalat in which five benches were constituted for different kinds of cases pending in the Courts like criminal Compoundable matters, cases u/s 138 NI Act. MACT cases, Bank recovery cases, Matrimonial disputes and other civil cases etc.

The 1st bench was presided over by Iqbal Ahmad Masoudi, Worthy Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil and Advocate Mohammad Amir. The 2nd bench was presided over by Phuntsog Angmo Chief Judicial Magistrate/Secretary DLSA Kargil and Advocate Khadim Hussain.

The 3rd bench was presided over by Shafiq Mushtaq Lone, Munsiff/ JMIC Sankoo and Advocate Talib Hussain. The 4th bench was presided over by Shabir Ahmad Malik, Munsiff Additional/Special Mobile Magistrate Drass and Tehsildar Drass and the 5th bench was presided over by Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil and Tehsildar Kargil.

A total number of 301 cases were referred to the National Lok Adalat out of which a total of 246 cases were disposed of amicably. The settlement amount was Rs 29,21,000 and fine of Rs 1,13,250 was imposed.
