VoL Desk, April 10: The Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra received scheduled calls from two delegations from Zanskar, each with their own set of requests.

Firstly, the All Zanskar Student Association, Jammu delegation requested improvements in the overall education scenario in Zanskar sub-division, including the opening of a Kendriya Vidyalaya with residential facilities, and an IGNOU study center.

They also requested an exam center for DSSRB exams in Zanskar, citing issues related to travel and lodging in HQ Kargil, which is around 250 kms away from Zanskar. The HLG discussed the matter with the Deputy Commissioner Kargil and assured the student union of allocating an exam center in Zanskar.

Secondly, a delegation led by the Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party, Zanskar sub-division, requested the HLG for the provision of an examination center in Zanskar for the upcoming DSSRB exams.

They also requested the creation of posts for Bhoti Teachers in government schools, the appointment of a Gynaecologist at CHC Padum, and the creation of Amchi posts at Karsha and Cha. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor assured them that he would look into these matters.

Overall, the delegations from Zanskar highlighted the need for better education facilities and exam centers in the region, and the HLG has assured them of his support in addressing their concerns.
