LG Mishra hosts Iftar party, appeals for collective efforts towards social issues
VoL Desk, April 15: Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra hosted an Iftar party for people from different communities in Leh on Tuesday, marking the holy month of Ramzan. The event was attended by a diverse group of people who came together to break their fast and celebrate the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
During the event, the High-Level Group (HLG) overseeing the development of Ladakh wished everyone a happy and prosperous Ramzan. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor took the opportunity to address the gathering and spoke about the need for collective efforts towards addressing social issues such as drug abuse, corruption, and water conservation.
The Lt. Governor emphasized the importance of all sections of society coming together to tackle these issues and appealed for earnest contributions towards the cause. He also urged people to make sincere efforts towards water conservation in Ladakh, given the region’s fragile ecosystem.

A similar Iftar party is scheduled in Kargil also as part of the Lt. Governor’s four-day visit to the district. The LG is also expected to visit Sankoo and Drass Sub-Divisions during his visit.
