Kargil Education Department Staff Detachment Order Subject to Case-by-Case Study, Says CEC
VoL Desk, March 07: The Director of School Education, Ladakh had ordered the detachment of all teaching staff from the Education Department in Kargil who were currently attached to other departments and organizations.
However, the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan, has directed a case-by-case study of each individual before taking any action.
In a letter (No: LAHDC-K/2/7893), the CEC instructed the Chief Education Officer, Kargil, to constitute a committee to examine the genuineness of each attached teaching staff member and submit a detailed report to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, and the Council, LAHDC, Kargil, within a week’s time.

The letter also stated that the teaching staff presently attached in various institutions within the district were selected on the recommendation of concerned Zonal Education Officers, based on the present enrollment and staff strength of the institution. Thus, their attachment should not be disturbed at this time.
The Director’s decision to detach the staff came after a complaint by Hassan Masha, which was circulated on social media. Masha had written to the LG Ladakh, stating that the unnecessary attachment of staff from the Education Department to other departments and organizations was causing a disturbance in the functioning of the Education Department.
