79-year-old woman killed by stray dogs in Zanskar
VoL Desk, March 25: According to a press release by DIPR Zanskar, a 79-year-old woman named Tsering Kunzess was killed by stray dogs earlier today.
The incident occurred between 7 AM to 8 AM in the morning, when the dogs attacked and bit her near her old residential house. The victim was living alone with no family members.
The local authorities, including the Sub Divisional Magistrate and Station House Officer Zanskar, have rushed to the site and taken the dead body under police custody. They have shifted the body to CHC Padum for conducting post-mortem.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar has also assured to provide all logistical support for the cremation, including firewood and other essentials required for her funeral ceremony.
This is a tragic incident, and it highlights the need for better management of stray dogs in the region to prevent such incidents in the future.
