Mohd Ali Ashoor’s poetry book “rGya-lon” released in Kargil
VoL Desk, Feb. 10: Mohammad Ali Ashoor’s poetry book “rGya-lon”, which means 100 big messages, was released today by the Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan here at Cultural Academy Hall Kargil.
The book release ceremony was organised by the Association of Baltis in Himalaya and Territories of Indus. On the occasion, CEC Kargil Feroz Khan presided as Chief Guest while members of the Balti Association were also present. Many invitees could not make it to the event due to heavy snowfall.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz congratulated the poet Mohd Ali Ashoor on the release of his first book. The CEC also assured to promote literature and literary activities in the district.

In his speech, the poet Ali Ashoor said that the name of the book is a local name derived from the local language which means “100 big messages”. While thanking the people who supported him in editing and printing the book Ashoor said that he will endeavor more to contribute to the field of poetry and literature.
Mohammad Ali Ashoor’s book comprises 100 poetries in the Balti language written in Naltaliq script. In addition to a number of Balti Ghazals, the poetry book includes Qasidas, Marsiyas, Naat, and Manqabat in praise of the fourteen infallible Shia figures that include Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), his daughter Hazrat Fatima Zahra (S.A.) and twelve Imams.
Mohammad Ali Ashoor is a teacher by profession who is currently serving as a Zonal Education Officer with the District Administration Kargil.
