Kargil, Jan 31, 2023: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today congratulated the Ladakh Taekwondo Team for winning Trophy in Poomsae category in the recently concluded 39th Junior National Kyourugi/Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2023.

The CEC appreciated the players of the team for such a brilliant result. He said LAHDC Kargil will felicitate the team once they return back.

The championship was organized by the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

Sonam Chospal won Gold in Male Individual Poomsae, in Male Group Poomsae, Sonam Chospal, Zeeshan Mehdi and Feroz Ahmad won Gold, Zeeshan Mehdi and Nazira Banoo won Gold Medal in Pair.

Similarly, Shanaz Batool, Rehana Batool and Asiya Banoo won Bronze in Junior Female group and Arbaz Khan won Bronze medal in U- 59 and Rehana Batool won Bronze Medal in U-49.

The team was led by NIS and Senior Coach, Zaheer Abass Khan who thanked the support extended by the Youth Services and Sports Department, UT Ladakh.

General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Anayat Ali, appreciated the performance of the team. He said despite of all odds, the team participated in the National Championship and came out as the overall champion.

He thanked Sports Department, UT Ladakh led by Secretary, Ravinder Kumar for helping the association in establishing the team and assured the team will come up with more such results in the future.
