KARGIL, JAN 22: Archery Championship organized by Gongma, Bargong, Saliskote concluded here on Sunday at Shaheed Beheshti Ground Saliskote. 

On the occasion Brigadier Shri Sanjeev Kohli, Commander, Artillery Brigade was the Chief Guest and Lt. Col Pranay Kala, Artillery Brigade was the Guest of Honour and hundreds of villagers witnessed the final match. 

In this tournament 24 teams from all over the Kargil had participated in modern archery category as well as 14 teams participated in traditional archery category.

During the tournament Friend Humbri won the match against Young Star Sarchey in traditional Archery. Moreover, Horkar Poyen, Kargil won the match against Friends Pashkum in Modern Archery category. 

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers for successfully conducting the trophy with great zeal and zest.

Remembering the contributions of Kargilis for the nation he said “the nation is indebted to the Kargilis as victory of any war was not possible without the contribution of loyal civilians”.
