Leh, Nov 30: A meeting between the Executive Body of Press Club Leh and Kargil was convened by Leh Press Club at Hotel the Abdus Leh today.

The main agenda of this meeting was to strengthen both the Press Club of Ladakh.

Hosain Khalo President Press Club of Ladakh, Stanzin Desal President Press Club Leh, Stanzin Murup News 18 / Advisor Press Club Leh, Ali Waziri Vice President Press Club Kargil, Syed Hashim Razvi Advisor Press Club Kargil, Yangchan Dolma AIR Leh, Ibrahim Firdous Cashier Press Club Kargil, Phuntsog Wangmo-AIR Leh, Diskit Dolma-AIR Leh, Rinchen-News18 were present during the meeting.

The meeting discussed establishing a Regional Press Club in Ladakh where only Accredited journalists from both Leh and Kargil shall have the right to vote, and only one President will function for the whole Ladakh.

The meeting also discussed on the construction of the Press Club Office with residential quarters for senior journalists of Kargil, and early Implementation of the Journalist Welfare Scheme in Ladakh.

The meeting decided to hold two meetings of the Press Club annually one in Kargil and one in Leh.

The media persons also discussed accommodation and transport facilities for both Leh and Kargil-based journalist during their travel to Leh or Kargil and proper space for journalist during National event’s in Ladakh.
