Leh, November 26: On the occasion of Samvidhan Divas, the Ladakh administration in its commitment to strengthen and support a robust democracy at the grassroots level, doubled the total remuneration of the councilors of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils Leh and Kargil from the existing Rs. 60,000/- to Rs 1,20,000/-

This includes an additional monthly Constituency Allowance of Rs. 40,000/-, Office/Telephone Allowance of Rs 10,000/- and Medical Allowance of Rs. 10,000/-

Earlier, a committee under the Chairmanship of the Principal Secretary, the Revenue and Planning Department, Dr. Pawan Kotwal was set up on this matter. The Ladakh administration issued a notification in this regard after the recommendations of this committee.

The salary and allowances of Chairman/CEC and ECs shall continue to be governed in terms of Govt. Order No.23 of LAD of 2017 dated 27.12.2017 issued by the then Ladakh Affairs Department, J&K.
