Leh, Sept 17: The Municipal Committee, Leh, headed by Executive Officer, Stanzin Rabgais, conducted various activities to observe the Indian Swachhata League in Leh district today.

The event commenced with a pledge to clean Leh and plogging walk at Namgyal Tsemo which was followed by a cycling rally to Shanti stupa, plogging walk at Shanti stupa. From Shanti Stupa cycling rally continued to Leh Main Market where a plogging walk/drive was also carried out.

The main highlight of the Swachhhata League event was the Waste to Art exhibition held at the Leh Development Authority Eco Park, Leh. Various participants exhibited their work focused on recycling and upcycling wastes into useful products or decorative purposes.

The winners of the Waste to Art exhibition were felicitated by the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh.

Kunzes Zangmo won the first prize (Rs 50,000); Sonam Dawa and Stanzin Jigdal won the second prize (Rs 30,000) and Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School, Leh won the third prize (Rs 20,000).

The event concluded with several captivating and lively musical performance by Dashugs band.
