Govt. Girls High School, GM Pore Students visits KV Kargil
VoL Desk, Sep. 20: Students of Govt. Girls High school, GM Pore paid a visit to Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil today and observed the ATL Lab as well as Astronomy Lab of the Vidyalaya.
The students also went around and visited the Smart classes of the vidyalaya.
The students first paid a visit to the ATL Lab where Mr. Mukesh Kumar Swami (TGT WET) guided the students around in the ATL Lab. Mr. Mukesh showed the students 3 Robots – Kicker, Grabber & Floor Cleaner, with all three having functions as suggested by their names.

The Kicker kicks an object, the Grabber grabs an object lying on the ground that we intend it to grab. Apart from this, Mr. Mukesh showed the students an LED light that could be made to glow as per our desired timing and at our desired frequency.
After this, Astronomy Lab I/C MR. Karan Kindra (PGT Physics) demonstrated the various models in astronomy lab which are directly or indirectly related to class IX and class X syllabus. He told the students about basic and advanced telescopes with the planisphere from which the students can easily find out the exact location of various stars and constellations for a particular month in a year.
He demonstrated various working models for students like difference in the weights of planets, Virtual Reality Box, Seasons on the earth, Venus is the hottest planet, Age calculator on other planets, Solar and lunar eclipse, Solar cooker, Primary colours of light, expanding universe, Newton’s disc, Why sky appears blue etc.
He told students about an app which is available on play store i.e. STELLARIUM from which students can easily locate any constellation in the sky with various other celestial bodies in the space. In the end he guided the students about NASA and ISRO and how students can take admission and pursue a career in ISRO.
All in all it was a highly informative and enriching experience for the students and who were visibly delighted to go around in the vidyalaya and to see it for themselves as to how studies are going at the vidyalaya. The staff members of KV Kargil were also gladdened to walk the students around in the vidyalaya.
