VoL Desk, August 20: Public in district Kargil have been panicking and concerned as stray monkeys have been reportedly appeared in several villages across Kargil district.

Video clips of stray monkeys in various villages of district Kargil have been appeared on social media sites that have reportedly transported from outside Ladakh and dropped at various villages in Kargil including Kargil town, Shilikchay, Drass, Sanko, and Suru.

Public have been panicking suspecting any viral threat.

On asking about the incident, Wildlife Range Officer Shabbir Hussain, said that the officials of wildlife department are already in action at various locations to catch the monkeys.

A preliminary report has been also submitted at the office while investigation is underway.

A delegation from Shilikchay village also visited the Wildlife office at Baroo complaining the menace of wild monkeys that is posing threat to children.
