KARGIL, AUGUST 25, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today visited border village Hunderman-Mal village in order to assess various developmental works undergoing in the village.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Councilor Akchamal Constituency in LAHDC Kargil Haji Mohammad Amin, Superintending Engineer (SE) Irrigation and Flood Control Maqbool Hussain, Executive Engineers of I&FC, R&B, REW, PHE besides, Sarpanch Shilikche Hundarman Halqa and concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.

During the visit, the CEC inaugurated the solar water lift irrigation scheme and took on-ground assessment of the scheme. He also inspected works on major lift irrigation scheme, Kuls, link roads and other development works undergoing in Mal village.

Addressing the villagers CEC Khan said that it is overwhelming to see that due to the solar water lift irrigation scheme majority of agricultural land and fruit trees have been saved from drought-like situation. He said all concerned departments and villagers deserve appreciation for their relentless efforts.

The CEC added that solar lift irrigation is a temporary establishment and in near future after the completion of the Major Lift Irrigation plant, all issues regarding irrigation will get resolved and the maximum area of the village will get benefitted.

Detailing about the development works currently undergoing in all blocks and villages, he said, “We are fortunate that there are enormous developmental activities undergoing and there is no dearth in flow of funds as well for which we are thankful to the Government of India and UT Administration.”

Khan assured that all pending development works will get completed in a phase manner and upgradation and blacktopping works on Shikllikche-Hhunderman link road shall resume at the earliest and Mal village will also get benefit from it.

On the occasion Councillor, Haji Mohammad Amin and PRI members of the villages thanked LAHDC Kargil and District Administration for carrying out major development works, particularly safeguarding their agricultural land and fruit trees by the successful installation of solar water lift Irrigation scheme. They also expressed gratitude for the construction of link road to Mal village and link road to Imam Bargah.

The Councillor also forwarded some demands including early completion of major water lift irrigation scheme, upgradation of the existing pump to 41 Horse Power, construction of Shilikche bypass Kharul road besides various other issues of Akchamal Constituency were also forwarded to the CEC.
