Ladakh Festival Kargil 2022 concludes
KARGIL, JULY 24, 2022:
The two-day Ladakh Festival Kargil 2022 concluded today at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Bemathang Kargil in the presence of distinguished guests of LAHDC and District Administration Kargil.
Executive Councilor for Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsuk Tashi was the chief guest on the occasion while Executive Councilor for Health, Mohsin Ali was the guest of honor, Additional SP Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Director Food and Supplies Tsering Motup, Director Sheep and Animal Husbandry Dr Raza Abaasi, Deputy Secretary Nazir Hussain, AD Tourism Kargil Aga Syed Toha, district officers and other concerned officials were present in the occasion.

On the occasion, EC Tashi thanked the artists from Lahoul Spiti district, Leh district and local artists for presenting their culture and diversity in the festival. He said the festival is aimed to promote tourism and make Kargil a tourist retaining destination.
He said LAHDC Kargil is committed to promote tourism and said that it has taken various initiatives like infrastructural development and exploration of adventure sports and tourism attraction sites.
The EC also spoke about various initiatives like homestay policy and other tourism-related activities taken by Tourism Department and District Administration Kargil.
He thanked LAHDC Kargil, District Administration, Tourism Department and all the tourism stakeholders for their role in promoting tourism.
EC Tashi also said that Zanskar Festival which is scheduled in September will also be held at a mega level that will ensure participation of huge tourists.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Mohsin said despite the Covid-19 pandemic LAHDC has been conducting such programs for the promotion of tourism in the district. He said such programs will not only promote tourism and culture but will improve all the sectors.
He also said that such programs are an opportunity for the local artists to present their talent and gives a platform to share the rich cultural diversity. EC Mohsin said such programs will be held in future as well at a larger scale for the promotion of tourism.
He said post the formation of UT, many such programs have been held in different areas of Ladakh and the LAHDC Kargil is always there to support such programs. EC Mohsin said LAHDC Kargil is committed to provide platform for the talented youth.
As part of the festival, different cultural groups from Lahoul Spiti, Kargil, Leh, Turtuk and others presented different colourful cultural programs that enthralled the audience. On the occasion, appreciation certificates were also given to participants.
Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, Aga Syed Toha presented vote of thanks to all the departments and participants for making the festival successful.
