KARGIL, JULY 30, 2022: Labour Department Kargil on Friday conducted an inspection of BRO, NHIDCL work sites and labour camps at Lungnak, Zangla and Ating to monitor the working condition of labourers at Zanskar. 

Assistant Labour Commissioner Kargil, Raziya Khatoon along with the team visited worksites and labour camps of BRO and NHIDCL at Lungnak, Zangla and Ating to inspect the working condition of labourers. The ALC interacted with the labourers and inquired about the issues they face.

She directed the concerned officers for strict implementation of labour laws like Contract Labour Act, Interstate Migrant Workers Act, Payment of Wages Act, Equal Remuneration Act and to resolve the issues on priority basis. The ALC further informed the labourers about welfare schemes and requested them to visit the camp office at Tourist Dak Bunglow Padum .

Meanwhile, at camp office, Labour Inspector and team issued labour forms, educational assistant forms, form ‘C’ and provided the services of on-spot renewal of the cards.
