Leh, June 25: The Sub-Foreign Post Office (SFPO) was made operational at GPO Leh by the Commissioner of Customs, Amritsar. Since then, the stakeholder is availing the facility of SFPO and till date about 21 parcels have been exported to as many as 14 Countries.

On his visit to Leh on June 16, Rahul Nangre, Commissioner Customs met Director Industries, UT Ladakh, Moses Kunzang,  Postal staff and some exporters. He discussed about the facilities at SFPO, difficulties being faced, if any, and invited suggestions.

To minimize the procedural time, the installation of X-ray machine at the earliest was stressed upon.

It was decided that Industries Department and Customs will conduct outreach programme for general awareness of public and trade. For the furtherance of the cause of Trade and Industry, the Commissioner also visited the AGM Airport Authority of India Leh for providing Air Cargo Facility at Leh Airport.
