KDA writes to DM against “politically motivated march”

Srinagar, CNS, 08-June:

Kargil Democratic Alliance has written to the district magistrate urging for immediate stoppage of a politically motivated march in the guise of a peace march led by a Tibetan origin monk, heading towards Kargil with the clear intention of disturbing the communal harmony and peace of the area.

In a representation submitted to DM, it states that the Kargil Democratic Alliance held a meeting with the representatives of Ladakh Buddhist Association led by its president regarding the issue of construction of Gompa in Kargil.

Both the bodies unanimously agreed that the issue must be resolved amicably and by general consensus of the main stakeholders.

It further states that the meeting holds great significance because the issue has been handed over to the KDA by the religious organizations of Kargil and LBA being the main stakeholder in this issue.

Under such circumstances, a third party who has no stake in the matter, conducting a march for construction of Gompa in Kargil has no other purpose but to disrupt the communal harmony of Kargil and create chaos.

As per representation, a press note was already issued by the KDA on June 01, 2022, but unfortunately, the UT administration as well as the district administration has failed to take note of the apprehensions raised by us in the press note.

“You are, therefore, through the medium of this epistle, informed that unless, the so-called march is stopped immediately, it will lead to grave law and order situation in Kargil, for which the blame will entirely rest on UT and District Administration.  It will also disrupt the progress that has been made by the KDA and LBA to amicably resolve the issue”, it reads.(CNS)
