University of Ladakh flags off students on exposure tour to Gujarat University
VoL Desk, May 05: The University of Ladakh sent a batch of sixty (60) students of both Kargil and Leh Campuses for a study/exposure tour of seven days to Gujarat University (Ahmedabad), informed the Office of Registrar, Kargil in a press release.
The focus of this tour is to provide students of both Universities an opportunity to interact with one another and to share cross-cultural experiences. Students of Gujarat University are also expected to visit Ladakh in the near future.
The aim of the exchange programme is not only to provide students an opportunity to interact with the academic and professional elite of Gujarat University but also to enable them to gain immense exposure and enhance their vision.

The UOL students will be visiting a number of locations like Gandhi Ashram, Science City, etc. while also taking part in the Ladakh festival on the concluding day.
Impressive flag-off ceremonies were held in both Leh and Kargil today. Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K. Mehta, flagged off the student-tour bus from Leh Campus (Taru) in presence of Mrs. Konchok Angmo, Director, Leh Campus; Mohd. Rafee, Assistant Professor/Liaison Officer and other Leh Campus staff.
A total number of thirty students from different Post-graduate Departments of Leh Campus are participating in the tour programme. During today’s event, the Vice Chancellor extended his good wishes to the students and Liaison Officers for a safe journey and instructed the students to take full benefit from the study/exposure tour.
Simultaneously, in Kargil, Mr. Imteeaz Kacho, Registrar, University of Ladakh and Ms.Kaneez Fatima, Director, Kargil Campus flagged off student-tour bus from SRTC Complex in Kargil. Dr.Mohd. Saleem, Assistant Professor/Liaison Officer of Kargil Campus and other staff of UOL’s Administrative Office were also present during the event.
While wishing the students a comfortable journey, both the Officers impressed upon them the need to take optimum advantage of the opportunity of visiting Gujarat University and various locations of national importance in Gujarat. The thirty students were told that they have been selected for the tour on the basis of merit and that they will act as torch bearer of Ladakh in Gujarat.
