Kargil, April 22, 2022: A meeting of the Executive Council of LAHDC Kargil was held today wherein among other routine official business the social media tweet of BJP Spokesperson, Mohd Hassan Pasha through his personal tweet account alleging
LAHDC Kargil and District Administration for corruption, financial embezzlement
during the last 4 years also came into discussion.

The Executive Council condemned the allegations and termed them baseless. The Executive Council demanded written apology from Mohd Hassan Pasha and stated that his tweet was made willfully with the intention to damage the people friendly image of LAHDC Kargil.

The District Administration which have been efficiently and transparently discharging its legitimate duty which resulted in more than 90% of budget utilization out of the budget allocated for the district, besides LAHDC Kargil has successfully completed audit reports since inception of LAHDC Kargil and handed over the same to the Accountant General J&K.

After formation of Union Territory in 2019, the financial powers of LAHDCs have been withdrawn and no financial powers is being exercised by the LAHDC, hence there is no question of financial irregularities. The mandate of LAHDC is limited to planning and monitoring only.

It was further decided in the meeting that if Mohd Hassan Pasha continues such irresponsible behavior and continues mudslinging against the democratic institution in Kargil, LAHDC Kargil may be consider taking legal action against him.
