VoL Desk, March 16, 2022: University of Ladakh has ordered establishment of a Campus of Government Degree College, Kargil in Sankoo until the proposal for establishment of Degree College in Dankoo itself is approved.

In a fresh order on Wednesday, the Office of the Registrar, UoL, maintained that sanction is hereby accorded to the establishment of a Campus of Government Degree College, Kargil in Sankoo (Kargil) until the proposal for the Degree College in Sankoo is approved.

The order appointed Mr.Saleem Ahmad, Senior Assistant Professor of Geology, Government Degree College, Kargil as Nodal Officer of the Sankoo Campus of Government Degree College, Kargil with immediate effect.

The order further released Rs.10.00 lakh (ten lakh rupees) by Director, College Affairs, University of Ladakh in favour of Principal, Government Degree College, Kargil out of the Pool Funds of Constituent Degree Colleges, currently at his disposal, for meeting miscellaneous expenses of the Sankoo Campus.

The Sankoo Campus shall function from the already identified buildings of Government Higher Secondary School and Government Middle School in Sankoo.

The Nodal Officer shall immediately intimate/ notify the subjects to be introduced in the Sankoo Campus in consultation with UOL’s Dean, Academic Affairs and Director, College Affairs.

Principal, Government Degree College, Kargil shall depute three permanent teachers of her College to the Sankoo Campus.

Principal, Government Degree College, Kargil shall get an Administrative Admission Cell established in the Sankoo Campus to start admissions and Principal, Government Degree College, Kargil shall depute clerical and other staff as well as contractual teachers to the Sankoo Campus as per requirement.
