PCC Kargil demands enhancement of honorarium for Anganwadi Workers
VoL Desk, March 15, 2022: District Panchayat Coordination Committee (PCC), Kargil, President Issa Ali in a letter to the Secretary, Social Welfare, Union Territory of Ladakh has demanded enhancement of monthly honorarium for Anganwadi Workers.
The Anganwadi Workers approached to the office of the PCC demanding to put forth the issue of enhancement of their monthly honorarium.
“Being a public representative and the president of all PRI members kargil, I would like to put the below lines before your good self in support and request to enhance their monthly honorarium”, read the letter.
The Angawadi workers are grass root level workers who have assigned duties of various survey projects beside their own duties of running the Anganwdai centers.
They are given the task of collecting data of pensioners, by Social Welfare department, so they have to go door to door for collecting these data.
They are also part of surveillance team for Covid 19. And many more tasks they are performing in addition to their own duty of running the Anganwdi centers, maintained the letter.
Aganwadi workers practically discharge full day duty against a meager monthly honorarium. They look after kids of the community and has a major role in developing a foundation for educational development of these kids.
An enhancement of their monthly honorarium will definitely lead to job satisfaction among anganwadi workers. This will help the government to get women emancipated from all sort of social imbalances, the letter maintained.
