Ladakh Police Recruitment – 800 to 1200 Aspirants Stranded Outside Ladakh: CEC Kargil
VoL Desk, March 07, 2022: Chairman and CEC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan in a press conference Saturday raised various issues of the students’ fraternity including the physical test for police recruitment, SSC Ladakh recruitments, and Ladakh recruitment board here at council secretariat.
The physical test for the police recruitment drive is scheduled to begin from March 15, 2022, while the students outside Ladakh who are to appear in the test are concerned about the transport connectivity to reach for the exam.
The current Police recruitment will be the first recruitment of Ladakh after the formation of UT for which the people were waiting anxiously, says Feroz Khan.

“In my own opinion, march month is not suitable for recruitment as it is also considered a month of winter where the climate is harsh and unpredictable. The ADG Ladakh informed that some organizations and student factions pressurized to do the recruitment in March only otherwise the test was almost postponed.
“As per rough data 800 to 1200 students to appear in the exams are outside Ladakh. Accordingly, the LG is requested to arrange IL-76 or C-17 sorties from Jammu and Srinagar to airlift stranded passengers and especially the student aspirants.
“Unfortunately, due to the Ukraine war episode, most of the airbuses have been involved in the operation Ganga to evacuate the students from Ukraine. The operation is a priority for all of us. But this is also a concern, how to ensure that the students could appear in the physical test.
“We have two options either to arrange airbuses for the students or to conduct the test letter for those who are stranded outside. Meanwhile, airfares are also high in between 10 to 15 thousand which is also not affordable. He instructed all the students to not panic for the test as the necessary arrangement will be made accordingly.”
Second, quoting some student representations CEC Feroz said that the recruitment announced by the SSC has some technical issues where eligibility criteria are high. The criteria are high only in SSC while Recruitment Boards of other states have no such criteria. We along with the LAHDC Leh have been working on this; if there is any discrepancy, we will raise the issue with the UT administration. “The students are also demanding for the formation of separate recruitment board for Ladakh which is a genuine issue. However, this was not created to accelerate the already delayed recruitment process but in future, this will be created”, the CEC concluded.
