LAACL Kargil celebrates Jashn-e-Nowroz at Hardass village
KARGIL, MARCH 21, 2022: Ladakh Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages (LAACL) Kargil in collaboration with All Balti`s Association of Himalayas today organized a colorful program at Hardass village to mark the observance of Jashn-e-Nowroz.
Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, Aga Syed Hassan Armaan, Secretary Tourism and Culture, UT Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve, Padma Shri Awardee, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tsering Motup, and other district officers were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Armaan affirmed the LAHDC’s dedication and seriousness to review the ethnic culture and language in the district. He appreciated the LAACL Kargil for its efforts in preserving the local culture and language.
Secretary Mehboob Khan emphasized on the importance to inculcate the traditional values and culture to the young generation with these events.
He assured to provide support for the promotion of tourism and cultural revival in the district.
He emphasized on a two-way resolution to provide quality service to tourists while generating employment for the local youth. He further emphasized on making Ladakh clean which is also dream of the
LG Ladakh.
DC Santosh urged to make a balance between culture, tradition and modernization and appreciated the cultural academy for preserving the culture and traditional values. He assured to take necessary action on the demands put forward by the villagers.
Fazil Abass from Turtuk presented a research paper while noted local poets graced the occasion with poetry that enthralled the audience.
On the occasion, various villages from across the district presented an exhibition of ethnic foods.
General Secretary, All Baltis Association in Himalayas and renowned poet Ashraf Sagar, gave an introduction to the Jashn-e-Nawruz program.
Ranthag Theatre Group Kargil presented a skit on the theme Eid Mubarak and cultural revival that thrilled the audience.
On the occasion, the first Balti Dewaan in Kargil sung by Sadiq Ali Ashoor and lyrics by Fazil Abass (Turtuk) was also digitally released.
The LAACL Kargil also facilitated the first Padma Shree and State Awardee with a traditional shawl and certificate.
Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil, Nazir Hussain presented a welcome speech while Sarpanch Hardass, Roqiya Banoo presented the vote of thanks.
