KARGIL, MARCH 17, 2022: Councilor LAHDC-K from 12-Baroo Constituency, Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh today distributed agricultural oat seeds to households in his constituency which includes every household from Biamathang to Dianguchey.

The seeds are provided under the Councilors Constituency Development Fund subsidy component on the basis of 75 percent subsidy benefits for the beneficiary farmers.

Each household has been provided 10 kilos of oat seeds which totally comprises 100 quintals, of which 50 quintals each was equally distributed to Baroo and Minjee villages.

In Baroo area, the seeds were distributed to the beneficiaries through local members of the municipal corporation while in Minjee the same is being distributed through PRI members who come under two Sarpanch Halqas.

In view of farming season, this step is considered significant as the move may help to increase the productivity of fodder as the crop is considered one of the most common and nutritive livestock feed which in turn contributes to dairy production that is essential for making every household self-sufficient in dairy production.

Before this, milk-producing cows were also provided to the deserving farmers so that it could help them to generate income through dairy production. Local residents have appreciated the move by the Councilor
