UKG girl from Ladakh pleads PM Modi to reopen schools
VoL Desk, February 24, 2022: In a heart-touching video, beginning with a Ladakhi traditional “Jullay” means hi, Deldan Wangmo, a girl of class UKG pleaded with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reopen the schools. The video has gone viral on social media sites.
“Jullay meme Modi. I am Deldan Wangmo, roll no four, class UKG, and I am six years old.
“Can you reopen the school? Please, I don’t want to wear this mask. This is very difficult to breathe with this mask”. Saying this Wangmo threw away her mask.

“And, I want to go to the school and study. I want to go to the school and swim. I want to go on the slides, the swings, and the round bounce. Can you please reopen the school? Please!
“And, I have kept my school stuff ready, this lunch box, my erasers, wow! My pencil, and my two pencils, my sharpener and my another sharpener, my bag full of lot of books, and please please reopen the School.
“I want to meet my friends”! Wangmo pleaded with folded hands and a hopeful bye.
As the schools in country’s Capital Delhi has opened a week before, the school children in Ladakh are waiting for the schools to reopen after the winter vacation.
On October 18, 2021, the DC Kargil had issued an order to reopen schools after the Covid threat. However, on December 16, 2021, the schools were again closed for winter vacations. From the Second week of January, the local LAHDC allowed winter tuitions at schools and made heating and teaching arrangements.
