KARGIL, FEBRUARY 26, 2022: As part of various events held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav, District Litigation Office in collaboration with GDC Kargil today organized a seminar on the positive and negative impact of social media at Kargil campus.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve was the chief guest on the occasion, Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari was the guest of honour while SDM Drass, Anwar Hussain was the special guest at the program.

Besides Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner/District Litigation Officer, Kargil Shamim Ahmad Wazir, Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Salim Wazir, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Kargil, Dr Zakir Hussain, Assistant Professor, Javed Naqi, teaching faculty, students, and other concerned officers attended the event.

While speaking on the occasion, DC Santosh said students should be focused on building their academic career and for that extraordinary commitment and focus is required to which heavy consumption of social media is a distraction.

He said throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the usage of social media has increased and advised students to use social media responsibly and also focused on female financial independence.

Santosh asserted that addiction to social media should be avoided and the valuable time and energy should be put into learning skills and technology to grab more global opportunities.

On the occasion, Principal GDC Kargil, Amina Qari extended gratitude to the district administration for organizing the much-needed event. She asserted the needful usage of social media and to avoid access usage of it.

Earlier, a debate session on the uses and abuse of social media was held in which students of GDC Kargil, Kaneez Fatima, Marzia Banoo, Archo Kaneez Khatija Bano participated.

DMP DC Office, Bashir Ahmed, and Advocate, Kacho Manzoor Ali Khan shared their views on general and legal aspects of social media.

The Deputy Commissioner and the dignitaries distributed momentos among the participants of the debate session.

Earlier, Zahid Hussain, Associate Law Officer, DLO gave the introductory speech while Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner/District Litigation Officer Kargil, Shamim Ahmad Wazir gave a general address on the topic.

Sajjad Hussain, Assistant Professor presented the vote of thanks. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Faiza Naaz, a student of GDC Kargil.
