Patients suffer as Kargili taxis are not allowed at Leh Airport
LEH, JANUARY 14, 2022: “Unfortunate that taxis of Kargil aren’t allowed to pick passengers/patients from Leh Airport, nor they have a parking space there. Such restrictions are illegal”, tweeted the LAHDC Kargil quoting a complaint by a patient who traveled recently.
The LAHDC Kargil in a tweet, quoting the CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan maintained that the matter has been taken up with the LG Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur, Advisor Ladakh Umang Narula, and Divisional Commissioner Swagat Biswas who have assured to do the needful, on a priority basis.
A patient named Nissar Hussain Thursday took to Facebook to express his resentment and grievances that he experienced while returning from Srinagar via flight from Leh after treatment.

Out of the main gate of the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport the patients couldn’t find a taxi for Kargil. On inquiring they were informed that taxis from Kargil are not allowed to take passengers from there.
From the main gate, the two patients with two attendants paid as much as 500 rupees to Leh taxis no matter whether the passengers go near or far, that Nissar said pick of cruelty by the driver.
In his post, which has gone viral on social media platforms, Nissar questioned the concerned authorities that, why the taxies of Kargil are not allowed to pick up Kargil passengers, even patients from the main gate that is on National Highway 01 to Kargil?
“We were patients, we face a lot of trouble. Such trouble might face by all poor Kargillies. So, I post this grievance so the concerned authorities may able to hear and act”, maintained Nissar.
