KARGIL, JANUARY 05, 2022: In view of weather advisory that predicts heavy to very heavy snowfall from January 07-08, the District Magistrate, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve has ordered to activate winter preparedness control rooms in all over the district.

The DM in an order today issued to all District Officers, and Sub Divisional Magistrate Sankoo, Drass, Shakar Chiktan and Zanskar maintained that a recent “…Weather Advisory issued by Indian Metrological Department, Meteorological Centre, Leh, wherein the MeT department has issued Orange Weather Warning for Ladakh, which is likely to cause heavy to very heavy snowfall, mainly on 7th and 8th January 2022.

“Accordingly, you are directed to activate the winter preparedness control room
at district and sub divisional level and to ensure that all the field staff is kept in a state of vigil and readiness.

“No officer/official shall leave the station without prior approval of the undersigned.
Sh. A. G. Zargar, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Kargil will supervise the overall situation in the district.
