Land compensation for NH-301 distributes at Parkachik, Rangdum
KARGIL, NOVEMBER 30, 2021: During his visit to Suru Valley and Rangdum Area today, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan in presence of the Executive Councillor for Works Aga Syed Abass Razvi and Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve inaugurated Link Road Youkma, Doksboo and Tinguchey (Tangole) Limb Tinguchey approved at a total cost of Rs 150 lacs.
The CEC distributed land compensation among beneficiaries whose land has been acquired by NHIDCL for up-gradation of NH-301(Kargil-Zanskar Road) and also gave away solar home lighting system among villagers at Parkachik and Rangdum.
Councillor Parkachik Constituency Haji Ghulam Muhammad, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Shabir Hussain, Tehsildar Taisuru Sajjad Hussain, Project Director Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) Kacho Ahmad Khan, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Muhammad Hassan, Executive Director and General Manager (NHIDCL) Colonel Rajeev Kumar and Colonel A K Shiv Kumar besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the visit.

CEC Feroz Khan congratulated the villagers on the fulfillment of their long pending demand.The concerned officers from PWD informed the CEC that around 200 meters of road widening work has been already started.
As regards to the status of compensation being paid to the land owners, the concerned officers from the NHIDCL apprised the CEC that around Rs 10 crore 46 lakhs 92 thousand 735 rupees has been released by NHIDCL in favour of the land owners of the villages of Parkachik and Rangdum against 5.64 hectares of land acquired for the development of Kargil- Zanskar Road NH-301. It was further informed that the beneficiaries will get their due amounts in their respective accounts through invoice from JK Bank till 1st December, 2021.
CEC Feroz Khan appreciated the efforts made by the Revenue Department Kargil and the officers from the NHIDCL in the preparation of detailed estimated cost of land acquisition cases for payment of compensation to the deserving beneficiaries in a short span of time. He said the dedication shown by the officers is remarkable, adding he urged them to continue with the same commitment for the betterment of the society.
CEC Khan said that the processing and payment of compensation to the villagers in record time will boost the confidence of people towards the commitment of the local administration towards their holistic and inclusive development. He also hailed the active role played by the officers of NHIDCL in close coordination with the Revenue Department Kargil under the supervision of DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve who has been appointed as competent authority for land acquisition of NH-301 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.
In his address, DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve congratulated the beneficiaries for getting the land compensation in such a short period of time. He said that the UT Administration is committed for the overall development of Kargil. He urged the locals to be a helping hand in the effective implementation of any scheme which will come in future to develop Kargil, adding he said that close coordination between the administration and locals is always in the best interest of locals.
The Deputy Commissioner also extended his gratitude to the officers of NHIDCL for the immediate release of land compensation in favour of the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan also distributed 7 solar home lighting systems at Shakma Karpo and 3 for gompa at Rangdum through KREDA. He also interacted with the locals and listened to their issues and demands including construction of footpaths, bridges, fodder for livestock, protection bund, maintenance of link roads, deployment of snow clearance machines, deployment of teaching and health staff and other related issues.
CEC Khan assured immediate intervention of the administration to resolve the issues in a phased manner.
