Self Employment Mela cum Awareness Camp concludes in Kargil
KARGIL, NOVEMBER 20, 2021: Five Day Long Self-Employment Mela cum Awareness Camp organized by the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development Ladakh concluded at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kargil here today.
Executive Councillor for Works Aga Syed Abbas Razvi was the chief guest on the occasion while Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi was the guest of honor.
The camp was organized with the objective to impart awareness to the unemployed youth including the ITI passouts about different bank loans and government subsidy schemes in industries and entrepreneurship wherein different wings of the ITI Kargil, State Bank of India, J&K Bank, Grameen Bank, Punjab National Bank, J&K Cooperative Bank, District Industries Centre Kargil, GST Department, SC/ST Development Corporation Kargil besides other departments had put up their stalls about several government schemes relating to subsidy and entrepreneurship.
On the occasion, EC Syed Abbas Razvi inspected the stalls put up by the departments and enquired from the officials about the status of information imparted about the subsidy schemes, number of youth registered and loans sanctioned for public especially the students of technical education during the 5 day long mela.
While appreciating the step taken by the Department of Technical Education and Skill Development UT Ladakh for organizing such a resourceful mela and awareness camp for the unemployed youth and aspiring entrepreneurs, the EC Works underlined the need to hold similar events in future so that maximum number of youth are benefitted from different government schemes relating to subsidy and entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, during the concluding function today, 12 loan cases were sanctioned provisionally by the banks while it was further informed that more cases are under process which will be sanctioned in due course of time.
The officials also enlightened the public and the unemployed youth about various ITI trades, self employment schemes, the process of taking loans, eligibility criteria, procedure to avail and interest rates of the loans including the information that unemployed youth can get bank loans under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at upto 35% subsidy to start your own service and business.
Later, Superintendent ITI Kazim Ali extended gratitude to the LAHDC and District Administration Kargil besides all concerned departments and banks for their proactive support and coordination in the successful conduct of the self employment mela.
