Directs to complete Sankoo, Tangole, Barsoo helipads before November, 2021

KARGIL, NOVEMBER 11, 2021: Deputy commissioner and CEO,LAHDC,Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve today convened a review meeting in order to take stock of the pace of progress achieved on the  construction of helipads, heliports, hangers and airport under SDP Civil Aviation. 

Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil Tashi Tundup, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Hadi, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Shabir Hussain, Assistant Executive Engineer R&B-II Kacho Mumtaz Ali Khan, Nodal Officer Civil Helipad Kargil Muhammad Hassan besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Kargil was informed that 17 helipads were proposed to be constructed in the district out of which majority of the helipads have been completed while trial landing has also been conducted on a few of them.

The meeting was informed that the helipads which have been completed and have gone through trial landing are Sapi, Silmoo, Drass, Sapi, Namkila, Henaskote construction works on the remaining helipads is going on in full swing, adding that upgradation works of Civil Helipad Kargil has been completed while the construction works for hangers is underway. 

DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed to complete the land pad works of Sankoo, Barsoo and Tangole helipads by 25th of November, 2021.He further asked the concerned engineers to carry out proper  inspection of the continuing works besides  pacing them up so that targets are achieved within the set timelines. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that the purpose of the establishment of helipads and heliports is to connect the remotest parts of the district through aerial connectivity keeping in view the needs and demands of the local population from time to time. He stressed that concrete measures should be taken to complete all the pending works in a timely manner.
