KARGIL, OCTOBER 14, 2021: On achieving the target of 100 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses District Hospital Kargil conducted a facilitation function to celebrate the achievement here in Kargil today.

On the occasion, Executive Councillor for Health Mohsin Ali chaired as Chief guest, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Mutup was guest of honor. In addition, CMO Dr. Munawar Hussain Wazir, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kacho Liyaqat Ali among doctors and the paramedical staff were present.

DIO Kargil Dr. Abdul Jalil while speaking on the occasion gave a detailed presentation on the achievements of District Kargil regarding the covid-19 vaccination drive.

Chief guest EC Mohsin appreciated the role played by the vaccination wing of the health department Kargil, who contributed with sincerity and dedication in achieving the goal as District Kargil is the first District in UT Ladakh to achieve 100 percent first dose covid vaccination.

ADC Mutup also thanked the department for their dedication and timely achievement of the targets in the vaccination drive.

Later, appreciation awards were facilitated to health workers and volunteers who were involved in the Covid vaccination drive. The CMO delivered the vote of thanks.

Speaking to Voice of Ladakh correspondent CMO Kargil Dr. Munawar appealed public who left behind to take the vaccine before the beginning of the winter season to protect themselves from the deadly Covid virus. He further said that the potential third wave has not broken yet but it always poses a threat to mankind. He urged to follow Covid appropriate behavior.
