CEC Khan chairs Teachers’ Day celebration at Kargil
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 05, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan chaired the Teachers’ Day celebrations at Auditorium Hall Kargil today where he was the chief guest.
The event was organized by the Ladakh-General Line Teachers’ Forum (L-GLTF) Kargil as a part of the series of programmes held in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tsering Motup, Chief Education Officer Nazir Ahmad Wani, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Shafaqat Ali Khan, Assistant Director, Department of Information and Public Relations Muhammad Ali Tak, other concerned officers besides teachers and students were present on the occasion.

CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan in his address extended congratulations to all teachers on Teachers’ Day and highlighted the services and sacrifices they make in shaping the future of students. He said that the government schools in Kargil have been performing well since last 5 to 6 years for which the teachers, village education committee members and parents have played significant role, he said adding that as a result the government-run schools have gradually managed to gain trust of the public.
The CEC also mentioned the functioning of model schools in the district which have really become a model in providing quality education.
As regards to the recruitment process of teachers, he said that the recruitment process has been fair and accountable and concerte steps will be taken to conduct the coming recruitment exercise in the most fair and professional manner.
Responding to the demands of the L-GLTF, the CEC assured to redress the issues immediately, and concerning issues pertaining to the higher authorities he assured to take them up with the concerned in due course of time. He further assured to resolve the ReT Teachers regularization issue at the earliest possible.
CEC Khan also congratulated the first National Best Teacher Awardee from Kargil Muhammad Ali Akhone for his remarkable achievement and hailed his contributions.
The CEC mentioned that the recent major transfer exercise in the district that transferred around 1100 teachers together in a single move has resolved a long pending demand of teachers’ fraternity.
He hoped that the functioning of government schools will continue to improve in coming days, and urged the teachers in the district to unite under a single umbrella organization instead of different forums.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve while speaking on the occasion spoke about his own experiences in life as a student, and said that the teachers are the ones who feel pride of the success of their students. He urged that students and children must be taught to dream high without which the country will not prosper and further said that in shaping the future of the nation, teachers play a significant role.
CEO Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani and President L-GLTF Mustafa Kamal also addressed the gathering.
President L-GLTF apprised the CEC and DC Kargil about various issues of the teachers’ fraternity including anomaly in pay band/ grade pay/ level, 7th pay arrear issue of NPS employees, regularization of ReT teachers, issues related to promotions of teachers and other related issues.
Meanwhile, students of different schools performed colorful programmes and other performances and praised teachers for their contribution.
Later, the CEC along with other dignitaries distributed prizes among the students.
