Apex Body, KDA agree on four-point agenda
Leh, August 1, 2021: Apex body Leh and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) after the second round of meeting today at Leh reached to consensus on four points, tweeted Councillor Sayyed Mohammad Shah, who was part of the meeting.
Prominent leaders from both the districts representing different political, religious and student groups participated in the meeting. Pertinently, former MP and President Ladakh Buddhist Association Chupstan Chewang, former MLA and Co-Chairman KDA Asgar Ali Karbalai, former MLA and Co-Chairman KDA Qambar Ali Akhone, among others attended the meeting.
The delegation from the two districts reached on consensus for four key points that include, to demand full-fledged statehood for Ladakh, to demand constitutional safeguard for Ladakh with statehood on the lines of 6th Schedule, to demand immediate recruitment, and define “Resident of Ladakh” by UT Ladakh administration within a month, and to demand two parliamentary seats for Ladakh (one each for Kargil and Leh) in Loksabha/ Rajyasabha.
