KARGIL, JULY 09, 2021: Secretary Power, Sports and Agriculture Ravinder Kumar visited Zanskar today to take stock of the status of various developmental works under different sectors. 

During the course of the tour, the Secretary Power chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to take stock of the present status of power distribution in Zanskar Sub Division.

PDD, EPD, CCD and STD Kargil besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting. 

Pertaining the issue of allocation of land for construction of solar power plants at Karsha and Zangla, Secretary Ravinder Kumar directed the concerned departments to indentify the land at the earliest and hand over the same to CESL so that completion of 5 MW solar plant can be enabled by the end of this year, adding he said that the project assumes significance in improving the power distribution system in the sub division round the year.

Secretary Ravindar also reviewed the pace of progress of works of various departments such as Power, Sports, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Cooperatives under SDP, PMDP, State Sector and District Plan. He also inspected various DG set stations to assess the distribution of power supply.

The Secretary directed the concerned officers to keep full stock of fuel so that the public do not face inconvenience during the winter season. He also visited different agriculture and sheep farms and sports facilities besides snow skiing sites and ice hockey rinks to take stock of the pace of progress of developmental works.

Area Development Officer/ Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar Sonam Dorjay and other concerned officers accompanied the Secretary during the tour.

Meanwhile, Councilor Cha Stanzin Lakpa along with Sarpanch Testa Lungnak and Salapi Zanskar welcomed the Secretary and the accompanying officers at

Tourist Reception Centre Zanskar.
